Seek Eternal Value

DT 8:3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

The operative question is this, “Are we hungry enough to be fed by God?”  In order to make your fresh start really count, you must not be satisfied with anything less than a result that ultimately comes directly from God.

Our cosmopolitan, avant-garde, Western culture can feed everything our flesh desires and more.  If we are not careful, we can find ourselves beginning to believe that we have achieved success when our impact has really only been “skin deep.”

Make sure to measure the performance of your new undertaking by a divine standard.  No matter how exciting it may seem, if it has no tie to deeper and lasting matters, it may be a waste of your precious time.

Remember, “Man does not live by bread alone.”  Fresh starts will be life-giving to you and those around you when they affect eternal consequences.  Always remember to measure your significant plans by their eternal value!
